An accident on Teller County Road 11 on July 18 resulted in the death of an unidentified 70-year-old Kansas man. His 69-year-old female passenger was airlifted to a Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs and treated for serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
The accident occurred about 11 a.m. about 12 miles south of Florissant at the overlook to Wright's Reservoir, according to the Colorado State Patrol. The state trooper working the scene said the man, who was not wearing a helmet, failed to negotiate a left-hand curve
The man and the woman were thrown several feet from the 2007 Harley Davidson. The man died on the scene.
Also responding to the crash were the Four Mile Fire Dept and Cripple Creek EMS, as well as Teller County deputies.
